Were Henry David Thoreau around today we suspect this quote would capture his thoughts on our Clear Creek trail system. Each outing is different, one day knee-deep in golden meadows fringed by Jeffrey pines, another exploring babbling brooks that snake through the valley and another climbing to rocky outcroppings with 100-mile views. Most of the year hiking stick and boots are all you’ll need, but winter outings on snowshoes are not to be missed.
Clear Creek trails offer adventure in every season and for every ambition and skill level. The Lookout Trail is a short jaunt with less than 300 feet of vertical. On the other extreme, you can tackle the Clear Creek trail all the way from Jacks Valley to to the connection to the Tahoe Rim trail.
